Male sambar deer rescued from 40-foot-deep well in Maharashtra’s Alme village

Newsday Network,An adult male sambar deer was successfully rescued from a 40-foot-deep, water-filled well in Alme village, Maharashtra, following a joint operation by the Maharashtra Forest Department and Wildlife SOS, with support from local villagers. The four-hour rescue was carried out using ropes and nets, after which the deer was found to have only minor abrasions and was released into a nearby suitable habitat the same day.
