App-based delivery workers to stage nationwide strike again on December 31 over pay, safety concerns
Newsday Network,Delivery partners of instant delivery platforms such as Swiggy, Zomato and Blinkit observed an all-India strike on December 25 and have announced another protest on December 31, highlighting issues of low wages, long hours and unsafe delivery targets.
Unions said workers face falling earnings, lack of social security and arbitrary penalties. “Delivery workers are being pushed to breaking point,” said TGPWU president Shaik Salauddin, calling the strike a demand for dignity, safety and accountability.
