Government removes mandatory pre-installation of Sanchar Saathi App
Newsday Network,The government clarified that the Sanchar Saathi app is a secure tool designed solely to protect citizens from cyber fraud. With 1.4 crore downloads, it helps users report nearly 2,000 daily fraud incidents, strengthening public participation.
As registrations surged, six lakh in a single day, the app’s growing acceptance led the government to withdraw the mandatory pre-installation rule for smartphone makers, ensuring accessibility while allowing users the freedom to install or remove it.
