Vaishno Devi Yatra to resume on 14 September after rain-induced suspension

The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has announced that the yatra will resume on Sunday, 14 September 2025, subject to favourable weather conditions. The pilgrimage had been suspended after a landslide on 26 August near Adhkuwari claimed 34 lives and left several injured.
Heavy rains had blocked the trekking route and disrupted connectivity on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway. With repair and maintenance work now complete, devotees can once again begin their journey from Katra to the shrine.
RFID-based tracking remains compulsory for pilgrims, who have been urged to carry valid identification and follow designated pathways. The Board thanked devotees for their patience and said the resumption reflects faith and resilience ahead of Navratri.
